About Us

Walk T.O.

At Walk T.O. we believe that to experience Toronto you have to take to its streets and hear its stories. We bring Toronto to life by providing guided tours that draw an intimate, unique map of the city, sharing its history, culture and the stories of its people. Our tours aim to inspire and motivate our customers to explore more of the city’s offerings.

Your Guides

All of our guides are university graduates and long-time Toronto residents with a passion for sharing their knowledge and stories of the city. Our friendly guides live, work and play in Toronto – so don’t hesitate to ask them for recommendations on what to do and see.

The Big Kahunas

WALKT.O. is the brainchild of Michelle Galea and Crystal Luxmore – friends who were swapping travel tales one evening and realized that it was a few great walking tours that had made them really fall in love with the cities they visited. So these long-time Torontonians wanted to do the same for their own beloved city – and WalkT.O. was born.

Michelle Galea

With university degrees in both business and teaching, Michelle is a dedicated entrepreneur and educator. Her desire to experience and learn about other cultures flew her across the Atlantic where she started her career as an IT teacher at a junior high school in Cambridgeshire, England. Back in Ontario, Michelle has been helping adults earn their high school diplomas by teaching marketing, entrepreneurship and social sciences for the Peel District School Board. Michelle love’s the city’s offerings – as an avid festival goer, live music junkie and all-around culture vulture she is excited to share her passion with visitors and fellow city dwellers.

Crystal Luxmore

Crystal’s inquiring mind led her to pursue a Master’s in Canadian History and run communications for a renewable energy research group in England before returning to Toronto to work as a freelance writer and journalist. She has written on Canadian history and travel for The Walrus and The Beaver magazines, the Toronto Star and for’s national history website. Her environmental journalism has appeared in ReNew, Renewable Energy World and North American Windpower magazines. She keeps a close eye on urban affairs as a news writer, co-host and producer on Take 5, the flagship morning talk show on Toronto’s best public radio station, CIUT 89.5 FM, and by writing a weekly column for blogTO called Toronto through the eyes of… An avid traveler, Crystal has taught English in Japan, worked in England’s Black Country and backpacked through Southeast Asia, Western Europe and India.
